Yes, my little fashionistas, it is that time of the week again. You no doubt notice that, today, we have two Prada handbags on display; this is mainly because it may just be a color choice that makes me wonder whether or not the Prada Crispy nylon tote is fab or flub. I really can’t tell, and given the sheer amount of time I’ve spent studying this bag in these two color choices, that really bothers me.

Actually, I’m starting to think that it’s a combination of the color choice and the design that’s making me so ambivalent about this bag. Quilted can be cool, it can be really stylish. I’m not generally a fan of it, but am also the first to admit that when it’s done right – and I would expect the designers behind Prada purses to pull it off – quilted bags are absolutely stunning. This one not so much.

Let’s look at the black bag first. When I have a choice between black and practically any other color, I do tend to go with black. Usually, though, it takes a while. My preference here, though, goes unwaveringly to the black version. That color of green honestly? That’s the most hideous thing I’ve ever seen. The quilting combined with that color really makes this Prada tote look more like a diaper bag – a very low end diaper bag, because Prada handbags makes diaper bags, and a lot of those diaper bags are so awesome that I’d think about carrying them as a purse.

Quite the contrary, it looks kind of like you could buy the green bag at K-Mart – nothing against K-Mart, but you certainly do not expect to find a purse that’s supposed to be of Prada quality there. But anyway, I’m sort of okay with the black version. Sort of. But maybe it’s just me, so I’m leaving it to my faithful Prada aficionados: is the Prada Crispy nylon tote fab or flub?

Oh, I am absolutely enamored. Currently, I am in love with approximately seven Prada handbags , but they seem okay with the arrangement so I don’t mind introducing a new model into the mix. Because it is metallic.

And also because it is called the Prada Nappa Mordore Hobo and I am generally attached to anything that reminds me of Lord of the Rings, even though it’s a total coincidence. This is lovely. This is heaven in a handbag and I want it so badly I could cry.

In general, I like my purses simple. Sometimes I get in the mood for something with a lot of pockets on the outside, but I have Prada handbags for that mood. They correspond with my punk fashion days and it all works out nicely. I love the way the silhouette of this bag is clean and sleek, yet the structure and design itself is gorgeously complicated.

What you are seeing here are separate strips of decadent nappa leather which have been stitched together in order to create that intricate stripped pattern you see.
